Boys basketball National Handbook

Coaches ask your players
if they are playing for any other team.
Advised them that they only can be carded to one.
They can only play with 1 Club/Organization in the District tournaments.
1. Player/Team Disqualification:
All Non
athletes/coaches are
responsible to see that their team meets
all eligibility requirements.
If a player is found to be ineligible prior to the start of
sanction competition,
the player will be expelled from the competition
and the team will continue. If a player is found
ineligible
after
the competition has started, the team will forfeit all games and the
ineligible player will be
expelled
from the competition. The team may continue to participate, if
applicable. Both player and the coach is
subject to suspension.
Violation of this -
up to 2 year of suspension.
2. Player/Club Attachment: A player
becomes attached (a member of) an AAU club when he
participates in an
AAU sanctioned competition, which involves 2 or more AAU clubs (this
does not
include practice or league sanctions issued by AAU.
Violation of this - up to 2 years suspension.
3.
Any
coach or player that is ejected and/or
receives 2 technical
fouls in a game
is suspended
for 2 games, the suspension
starts immediately,
and BA Sport Director must be
notified.
4.
Any coach or player
suspended twice , in a season, shall be banned
from the
District AAU
Championships for 2 years.
5. Seeding:
Seeding for this year will be based upon last years State results. The top
four teams will be
given seeds. Seeds belong to the organizations, not the
players or coaches. All other teams will be
placed into pools by random
selection. The BA District Sport Director / Director will conduct the
seeding meetings for all age groups.
6. Game forfeit
will result if a team has not arrived within 15 min. of the available start
time. If a game is
scheduled for 11:15 there will be an 11:31 forfeit. If
previous game runs over 11:15, 15 min. from
available start time.

For 8U/2nd, 9U/3rd and 10U/4th Grade:
Teams ahead by 20 points or more at any point in the second half must play
defense behind their three-point arc. First offense: Warning, Second and all
additional offenses: 2 shot technical.
For 11U/5th Grade and older:
Teams ahead by 30 points or more at any point in the second half must play
defense behind their three-point arc. First offense: Warning, Second and all
additional offenses: 2 shot technical.
8. Pool Play Tie Breaker
a. In any situation where two (2) teams are tied,
head-to-head competition between the
teams will determine the winner.
b. If more than two (2) teams tie, a point differential
tie-breaker will be applied. The point
differentials of the teams involved
in the tie are totaled. Teams are then ranked according
to the sum of the point differential
- with the highest number placing first, the second
highest placing second. (The maximum
that you can beat a team and still gain an
advantage is 15 points.)
c. If two (2) teams are still tied after the application of
the formula, go back to (a.) to break
the tie.
d. If more than two (2) teams are still tied after the
application of the formula, the point
differentials of the teams not
involved in the tie are added, and the results recalculated.
e. The score of all forfeits shall be 15-0. (For Tie Breaker
Examples please see Appendix i.)
f. If there is still a three way tie, three way flip of
the coin. Odd Coin out.
9.
Games will be played
under National Federation of State High School rules except where modified:
8-9u 6 min. qtrs, 10-12u 7-min. qtrs., 13-17u 8 min. qtrs. 19u 20 min
halves.
Undersized ball 28-1/2’ will be used for age groups 8u through 12u.
4 minute OT for 13u and higher.
10. Coaches and players
are prohibited from interacting negatively with the game officials before
and after
the contest. Coaches and players must not have any physical
contact with the officials. Interaction –
2 game suspension.

11. The
BA District Sport Director
will resolve any problems that arise during the tournament that are not
specifically addressed.
12. A team may have a maximum of three players
from an adjoining District.
Players may only
participate in one
District.
13.
Grade Confirmation:
Players participating under grade eligibility exception must present a birth
certificate and confirmation of grade level from the School Administrator.
9u – 14u each team
is allowed a maximum of 3. 15u – 19u / Senior Boys no limit.
NOTE: Grade level is
determined by the players grade on March 1st.

14. Not bringing your electronic printed score sheet to game. 1 Technical Foul.
15. All
non-uniformed
persons on the bench shall wear slacks, shirts with collars and
sleeves and dress shoes or tennis shoes
during play at the District Championship.
Shorts, jeans, sweat pants, athletic wear,
tee shirts, hats, and open-toed shoes are not permitted.
The dress code applies to female bench
personnel as well. Women may wear dresses or skirts
appropriate to the occasion.

16. No player is allowed to wear wave caps
in the gym. Players must take them off before entering
the gym.
17.
Uniforms: All team uniforms will be numbered on
the front and back of jersey. 1 Bench Technical
foul will be assessed.

18. Protest:
a. The Boys Basketball Committee shall serve as the
Protest Committee.
b. Protests must be made in writing within two (2)
hours of the completion of the game
being protested. A fee of
$100.00 cash (refunded if protest is upheld) must accompany the protest.
The written protest must be
submitted to the Site Director-in-Charge. All
decisions of the Protest
Committee shall be final.
